Rev Replay: Searching for Momentum

From basketball struggles to standout performances in baseball and softball, here’s what’s happening across Aggieland.

KANM Sports is back with another episode of Rev Replay, breaking down an up-and-down week for Texas A&M athletics.

Women’s Basketball: Searching for Answers

The Aggies’ losing streak hit eight after a crushing 91-58 loss to Vanderbilt, raising even more questions about the program’s direction. The team continues to struggle with consistency, rebounding, and offensive execution. With only a few games left, A&M desperately needs a strong finish to avoid closing out the season on a double-digit skid.

Men’s Basketball: A Three-Game Slide

The men’s team has now dropped three straight, starting with a brutal loss to Mississippi State and followed by setbacks against Tennessee and Vanderbilt. A&M nearly mounted a comeback against Vanderbilt but fell just short in a 86-84 loss. The lack of energy in Reed Arena was a talking point postgame, with Buzz Williams emphasizing that energy “should never be a question.”

Looking ahead, the Aggies have three crucial matchups left—Florida, Auburn, and LSU—before heading into the SEC Tournament.

Baseball: Adjustments Needed After a Tough Week

The No. 1 Aggies faced adversity this week, dropping three straight games, including a 7-1 loss to Texas State and a 3-2 loss to Arizona in the Shriners College Classic at Minute Maid Park. Gavin Grahovac’s season-ending shoulder surgery adds another challenge. The Aggies will look to reset and bounce back as the season continues.

Softball: Unstoppable Start

A&M softball continues to dominate, now 18-1 on the season. Sydney Lesko threw a 19-strikeout gem against Florida A&M, followed by another Aggie pitcher tossing a no-hitter in a 12-0 rout of George Washington. The team is ranked No. 5 nationally and looks every bit like a championship contender.

Football: Aggies Impress at the NFL Combine

Three Aggies took center stage at the NFL Combine: Edgerrin Cooper, Shamar Turner, and Shemar Stewart. Cooper and Turner had solid performances, but Stewart stole the show, posting a 4.59-second 40-yard dash, a 40-inch vertical, and an 11-foot broad jump. His athleticism drew comparisons to Myles Garrett, making scouts rethink his draft potential.
