The Glee on TV
I don’t hate
Glee
. Ending in March 2015, it was aired for six years, and for some worthy reasons.
The acting never took my breath away (apart from the tear-jerking episode dedicated to the late Cory Monteith), yet it always kept my attention and perhaps even distracted me from my life, just for a little while. The snarky one-liners from various students at McKinley high or even the ramblings of Sue Sylvester, played by the iconic Jane Lynch, keep the show light-hearted and comedic, while still exploring serious topics. A lot of the themes of the television show include bullying, teen pregnancy, underage drinking, handicapable struggles, questioning sexuality, and so many more real problems high schoolers face.
The show brought many exciting guest stars to sing along with, including but not limited to, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ricky Martin, Carol Burnett, Idina Menzel, Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Patrick Harris, and John Stamos. With these stars,
Glee
excited its audience and made their personal renditions of songs all the more special.
Classic songs such as “Don’t Stop Believing” or “Total Eclipse of the Heart” are performed on the show as equally as broadway works like “Defying Gravity” and “I Dreamed a Dream” which makes this show so versatile and appealing to all sorts of crowds. The show mixed comedy, romance, drama, and my favorite part of all, music. I highly recommend
Glee
if you are looking for a guilty pleasure television show that will make you tap your quietly or bust out singing.
(If at first you aren’t immediately hooked, try to wait it out until the second season... it’s worth it!)
Well, I don’t hate
