If you have not updated to iPhone 3.0 software, you will need to use the "iPhone 2.x Version" in order to play the streams.

The 40k AAC+ stream is strongly recommended for all 2G/3G connections (as well as congested public wi-fi hot spots) and will provide excellent sound quality and reliability at a very low bitrate.

If your network is fast enough, the live streams should automatically start playing within 5 seconds after the player loads. If it takes longer than that for a stream to start playing or if you experience problems with the streams, reload the stream or try a lower bitrate stream. You will have to manually start playback of archived shows, which will require 192kbps (3G/Wi-fi).

Network speeds will vary with location and cellular network congestion. You will need about double the stream's bandwidth to ensure a reliable streaming experience, but you may at any time experience drop outs on cellular networks (especially while driving*) due to the difficulty of maintaining a constant high bandwidth connection over cellular networks. You can check your bandwidth with many free speed test apps in the app store.

You may also stream KANM using various apps from the app store (some of which can automatically reconnect after a drop out, have artist and title updates, such as the SHOUTcast app. Just make sure that you change the SHOUTcast app's settings in the iPhone's main settings section to allow streams greater than 64kbps if you intend to listen on 3G or Wi-Fi networks. Other Internet radio apps you can use to listen to KANM include CastCatcher, Tuner2, RadioBox, Tuner, Flycast, FStream, and Radiolicious.

Some of these apps may require entering the stream URL manually, if you need the direct address for the streams, they are as follows:
48k (EDGE/3G)

96k AAC+ (3G/Wi-Fi)
