About Frequency

Frequency was first published in the year 2000 by a group of DJs at Texas A&M University’s student-run radio station, KANM. It was conceived to be an outlet for these DJs to make known their informed musical opinions to interested individuals on campus or beyond, but through lack of interest and upkeep, the site never really took off. There have been efforts in the recent past to revive Frequency back to what it was originally intended to be with a variety of different individuals taking charge of the zine and publishing new material. The spring semester of 2005 marked a turning point in Frequency’s life—starting with new management, a total website overhaul and redesign, and a major recruiting effort to find a team of dedicated writers for the site’s content.

Our goal is to publish Frequency as a weekly zine, full of new, original material written from a unique and interesting perspective that you won’t find anywhere else. We’ve expanded the scope of Frequency to include film in addition to music, and may be expanding that further in the future. If you have any questions, comments, or would like to be considered for joining the Frequency Staff, send us an email and let us know.
