During Weekend One of Austin City Limits Music Festival, I had the opportunity to interview indie-pop duo flora cash. This duo consists of Cole Randall from Minneapolis and Shpresa Lleshaj from Sweden, who actually met online via Soundcloud, then began to make music together. They released their debut EP, Mighty Fine, in December of 2012 and released their most recent single, "Missing Home," just a few weeks ago.

They played a set at 12:30 on the American Express stage at Austin City Limits, but despite being early in the day, there was still a pretty good crowd! They played all of their “top songs” on Spotify, including their newest release “Missing Home.” flora cash ended their set with a message to those struggling with mental health, whether it be anxiety or depression or anything else – and closed with their hit song “You’re Somebody Else,” as the crowd sang along beautifully! During the interview, I referenced this song as well as the words they spoke about it during their set and posed the question, “If you could say anything to someone struggling with mental health right now, what would it be?” They gave me a thoughtful answer - it was the last question I asked them, so be sure to listen to the whole interview!

This interview was probably one of my favorites, mostly because Cole and Shpresa seemed so genuine and excited to chat with me. We sat at a picnic table in the press lounge as I recorded the audio and asked them questions, and everything just flowed so naturally! After we finished, they complimented my questions and stated they were some of the best they have been asked by an interviewer. I hope we cross paths again one day and I have the opportunity to work with them in the future.
