About Frequency
Frequency was first published in the year 2000 by a group of DJs at Texas A&M University’s student-run radio station, KANM. It was conceived to be an outlet for these DJs to make known their informed musical opinions to interested individuals on campus or beyond, but through lack of interest and upkeep, the site never really took off. There have been efforts in the recent past to revive Frequency back to what it was originally intended to be with a variety of different individuals taking charge of the zine and publishing new material. Since spring 2007, Frequency has gradually been back up and running, starting with its first paper publication in several years in the spring semester of 2008. By the fall semester of 2008, a new website was in the making, and more and more articles were being gathered…
We aim to publish two zines per semester containing student written material about the music industry that isn’t “mainstream,” varying from band interviews to album reviews. The Frequency website includes all of our articles, past and present, as well as additional photographs from related events.
